Slow Food East Bay's Grain Fest

Date

November 10, 2024

Time

12:00 pm PST

Location

St. George Spirits, Alameda, CA

Join Slow Food East Bay from 12- 3 pm for an afternoon of delicious eats and fun learning about our food system's wide-ranging and diverse GRAINS!

Gather at our distillery in Alameda on Sunday, November 10th, and explore the world of heritage grains through the cultural and place-based food lens of seven East Bay chefs - Nafy Flatley of Teranga, Rahul Hari, Manny of Bolita Masa, Cafe Colucci, Loren of Basecamp Bakery, Marlene of Tsiri and a team all hailing from rice culture. Get excited about millet, teff, fonio, wheat, rice, corn, and amaranth, oh my!

In addition, there will be opportunities to learn from representatives from grain growers and millers and advocacy groups like Farmer Mai Nguyen, Bob Klein from Community Grains, David from Capay Mills, and Tim from Admiral Maltings.

The ticket page linked below offers tour and tasting options both here and at Admiral Maltings. At St. George, we are offering a truncated version of our distillery tour at noon and 3pm with a tasting of three spirit samples: our new Valley Gin, Baller American Single Malt Whiskey, and the recently released Lot 24 of our single malt whiskey (0.75 oz total). Or you can choose to dive deeper into any of our other experiences here!

*Please note that each guest may consume a maximum of 1.5 oz of our products on-site daily, which is the volume included in each of our experiences. You may choose either the Slow Food experiences or our ticketed ones, as doing both would exceed that limit. The St. George tours are limited to those 21+.
